Polls show Seanad abolition set to pass

The latest opinion poll shows that the referendum to abolish the Seanad looks set to pass on Friday.

The government looks set to win the referendum on scrapping the Seanad according to a new poll by the Irish Times and Ipsos MRBI.

44% of people are in favour of removing the upper house while 27% are against with as many as 21% saying they don't know, according to the IPSOS/MRBI poll in today's Irish Times. Some 8% said that they did not intend to vote.
