IMO receives HSE proposal, says strike action 'inevitable'

The Irish Medical Organisation says industrial action by junior doctors now looks to be "inevitable".

The IMO received proposals from the HSE today, aimed at cutting excessive working hours for non-consultant hospital doctors.

However, the IMO said the HSE has shown a lack of clarity and an "unwillingness" to fully commit to their concerns.

Eric Young of the IMO says the HSE's lack of "real engagement" is disappointing, and that the IMO must act in the best interests of its members.
