Groups protest austerity measures in day-long demonstration outside Dáil

Several hundred people are staging a protest outside Leinster House this afternoon as the Dáil reconvenes after its summer break.

A variety of groups, who say they are against austerity, are taking part in the day-long protest.

There is a heavy garda presence in the area with access to the Kildare Street entrance of Leinster House restricted, and Molesworth Street closed to traffic.
