A 23-year-old man has appeared in court in Dublin today charged in connection with the discovery of a shotgun, following searches in relation to the murder of Dean Johnson.

A 23-year-old man has appeared in court in Dublin today charged in connection with the discovery of a shotgun, following searches in relation to the murder of Dean Johnson.

James McMahon of Riversdale Road, Clondalkin is charged with possession of a shotgun and ammunition at an apartment in Clondalkin last week.

He was remanded in custody to appear in court again on Friday.

Dean Johnson, 21, was shot dead in Clondalkin in August.

A second man arrested following last week's searches remains in Garda custody.
