65-year-old Patrick Kennedy of South Earl Street, Dublin 8, and 31-year-old Gary Yeung of Bawnmore View, Crossagalla, Limerick appeared before the non-jury Special Criminal Court earlier.

They were both arrested on Saturday afternoon on James Street, as part of ongoing investigations in to the activities of dissident republicans in Dublin and Limerick.

Mr Kennedy was also charged with membership of an unlawful organisation whilst Mr Yeung was also charged with possession of ammunition at his home address on the same date.

They were remanded in custody to appear in court on Friday when bail applications are likely to be made.
