Wife and three children of Dublin doctor die in English house fire
The wife and children of a Dublin-based doctor have been killed in a house fire in England.
The woman and three teenagers died when a blaze broke out at their terraced house in Leicester in the early hours of the morning.
It has now been confirmed that the victims were the family and children of Muhammad Taufiq al-Sattar, a neurosurgeon at Beaumont hospital.
The mosque which the family attended issued a statement expressing shock at the tragedy, part of which read "“the sons and daughters were aged between 15 and 20. The father was away in Ireland during the week working as a heart surgeon.”"
Police in Leicester have opened a murder investigation.
