Gardaí appeal to public after serious assault on woman in Dublin

Gardaí in Dublin have issued an appeal to the public for information about a serious assault on a woman in the city last weekend.

A 19-year-old was seriously injured following an incident at a premises off Thomas Street in the early hours of last Saturday morning.

Gardaí at Kevin Street are anxious to speak to any taxi driver who may have picked up a man and a woman outside the Olympia Theatre on Dame Street between 2.15am and 2.50am that morning and brought them to Thomas Street.

They would also like to speak to any taxi drivers who either collected a woman at the corner of Thomas Street - Bridgefoot Street junction around half an hour later - at 3.15am - or who picked up a man at the same location around the same time.

A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
