Man appears in court after raid on cash-in-transit van in Tallaght
A man has appeared in court in Dublin charged in connection with Monday's raid on a cash in transit van in Tallaght.
Alan McCabe from 44 Allenton Avenue in Tallaght was remanded on bail to appear before the court again next month.
This incident happened on Monday in Old Bawn in Tallaght when a security worker was confronted by two men with another man waiting in a car.
That car was found in the Allenton Estate.
Later that day, gardaí arrested a man in his 20’s following a raid on his home - he appeared in Tallaght District Court this afternoon.
Mr McCabe was charged with handling stolen goods at his home.
Det Garda Brian Hurl from Tallaght Garda station said he replied “I never had any stolen cheques in my possession” when charged.
Mr. McCabe also faces two drug possession charges – he said “they were for my own personal use” when charged by Det. Garda Hurl.
He was remanded on bail with a number of conditions – they include a cash lodgment of a €1000, sign on daily at Tallaght Garda Station, observe a curfew and reside at his home address.
He is due to appear before Tallaght District Court again on October 25.
