Two men have been arrested and a sawn-off shotgun and ammunition recovered by gardaí investigating the gun murder of a 21-year-old last month.

Two men have been arrested and a sawn-off shotgun and ammunition recovered by gardaí investigating the gun murder of a 21-year-old last month.

Dean Johnson was ambushed on the Neilstown Road, Clondalkin, west Dublin, on August 24.

A series of searches were carried out in the Ronanstown, Clondalkin and Cabra areas of Dublin and Kilcock, Co Kildare, by local gardai and national units.

A quantity of drugs were also recovered in the operations.

The arrested men are in their 20s and were detained under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act in Lucan and Ronanstown Garda stations.
