80 jobs to stem from Carphone Warehouse/Harvey Norman collaboration

A new joint venture between two companies- Carphone Warehouse and Harvey Norman -will see up to 80 new jobs being created.

The two businesses are collaborating to open a number of new concession stores across Ireland, with branches based in Dublin, Cork, Drogheda, Kildare, Waterford along with Limerick, Kerry and county Mayo.

The retail partnership is being set up following a successful pilot project in Swords in Dublin last year.

The first two branches will open in Blanchardstown and Nutgrove retail parks in Dublin this week.

Recruitment is ongoing for manager and sales consultant positions.

Peter Scott, from Carphone Warehouse said that other companies have also carried out similar successful collaborations.

"I think where there is expertise in businesses that can work closely together like electrical and connectivity just makes perfect sense," he said.

"And it means we can expand faster than we would be able to if were looking for stand alone stores."
