Armed cash raid in Tallaght

Gardaí in Dublin are investigating an armed robbery on a cash-in-transit van in Tallaght this afternoon.

Three men held up a security worker as he collected money from a business on the Old Bawn Road at around 1pm.

One of the men was armed with a sawn-off shotgun.

The raiders made their getaway with an undisclosed amount of cash in a Silver Avensis, which was found later burnt out in the nearby Allenton Estate.

No-one was injured during the raid, and no arrests have been made.
