Sligo train line reopens after fatal rail collision

Iarnoid Eireann says the Connolly to Sligo line has re-opened this morning after a man died after he was struck by a train yesterday.

The incident happened at Knockbeg between Ballymote and Collooney at 9.50pm last night.

The area was preserved by Gardaí overnight and emergency services remained at the scene this morning.

A bus transfer operated from Sligo to Longford earlier today but the rail service has confirmed the line has since re-opened and services will return to normal.
