Former Irish Times journalist dies suddenly

The former Irish Times journalist Sean MacConnell has died suddenly in Dublin.
The 66-year old, who was an award-winning agriculture correspondent, began his reporting career in Roscommon and spent many years as a journalist with the Irish Times and the Irish Press.
Mr MacConnell retired from journalism last year and is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren.
IFA President John Bryan said he was a wonderful character and a great advocate for Irish agriculture.
