Gardaí are looking at the possibility that two recent murders in Clondalkin in Dublin are linked.
39-year-old Jason Carroll was gunned down outside his home on Cherrywood Drive last night.
A burning car, believed to be used in the killing, was found nearby just before 11pm.
It comes just five days after 21-year-old Dean Johnson was shot dead on Harelawn Green, which is just a short drive away.
Garda Superintendent David Taylor believes the car found close to the Cherrywood Drive shooting may hold vital clues to finding the man’s killer.
"Gardaí are … interested in any person that may have seen this car - a small, four-door hatchback, burnt out, on Rock Road on the main Key to Lucan Road roughly after 10.30pm last night," he said.
Anyone with information on the vehicle is asked to contact Gardaí.
