Motorcyclist, 28, dies after collision with car in Wicklow

A motorcyclist has died following a fatal collision in Co. Wicklow yesterday evening.

The incident - involving a car and a motorbike- happened at Crosscool Harbour in Blessington just after 6.30pm.

The motorcyclist, a 28-year-old male, was seriously injured. He was removed to Naas General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Nobody else was injured. The road was closed to allow gardaí to examine the scene but has since reopened.

Gardaí at Blessington are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
