Two arrested after garda car rammed in Swords
Two men have been arrested after a garda car was rammed and a garda injured in Swords, Co Dublin in the early hours of this morning.
The incident took place at around 3.25am this morning after gardaí responded to a report of a car acting suspiciously in the Cian Lea estate in Swords.
When gardaí arrived at the scene a white Nissan Micra drove at the garda car, ramming it and injuring a female garda in her 20s.
She was taken to Beaumont Hospital with what is described as a serious head wound and is currently in hospital awaiting surgery.
The car was later recovered near Talbot Hall by gardaí responding to calls relating to burglaries.
Following a search of the immediate area by Garda units, including the Garda Air Support Unit, two males in their late teens were arrested and conveyed to Coolock Garda Station, where they are currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
