Gardaí examine car in Donegal hit-and-run investigation

Gardaí say a car that may have been used in a fatal hit and run in Co Donegal at the weekend has been found and is being examined.

Alan McSherry had been walking home from Bundoran to his home in Leitrim in the early hours of Sunday morning when he was struck by a car.

The 48-year-old, who was originally from England, was found lying in the road at 5am by his wife who went out to look for him.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Gardaí.
