Donegal hit-and-run victim found by his wife

The body of a man killed in a hit-and-run in Donegal over the weekend was found by his wife.

48-year-old Alan McSherry, originally from England, had been walking home from Bundoran to his home in Leitrim on a quiet country road.

Reports this morning reveal Mr McSherry's wife Jo went out looking for him when he failed to return home, and discovered his body in the road.

Gardai are appealing for the driver to make contact with them.
