A woman has been charged with possession of explosives in the North.

The 36-year-old has also been accused of possession of items likely to be of use for terrorism.

She was detained by detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) investigating a suspicious vehicle in Drum Road, Cookstown, Tyrone, on Tuesday.

She is due to appear at Dungannon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, police said.

Meanwhile, separately, a 39-year-old man from Tandragee in Co Armagh has been charged with possession of ammunition in suspicious circumstances and possession of items likely to be of use to terrorists. It is linked to an arrest in Lurgan, Co Armagh, yesterday.

He is due to appear in Craigavon Magistrates’ Court in the morning.
