A cyclist has been seriously injured in crash in Blanchardstown in Dublin.

A cyclist has been seriously injured in crash in Blanchardstown in Dublin.

The incident happened just after midday at the Ongar Distribution Road.

The 30 -year-old man was seriously injured when he was struck by a van.

He was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital but has since been transferred to Beaumont Hospital.

The man who was driving the van and another man who was a passenger in the van were not injured.

The road had been closed for a forensic examination.

The outbound side of the road has been re-opened, the inbound lanes are still closed.

Anyone witnesses to the crash are being asked to come forward.
