Woman arrested in connection with discovery of body on Wicklow beach

A woman has been arrested in Co Wicklow in connection with an incident last March in which a man died when his car plunged into the sea off Arklow Pier.

A search for his body was later called off, after his remains were found washed-up on a nearby beach.

The woman - who is in her twenties - was detained in the Arklow area shortly after 8am this morning.

She is currently being questioned at Wicklow Garda Station.
