Fatal incident at Kildare railway station

Rail services in and out of Heuston station have resumed following a serious incident at Kildare Station earlier.

Irish Rail says one person has died after an incident involving a train at Kildare Railway Station.

Services were disrupted for much of the morning as emergency services remained at the scene.

Corporate Communications Executive with Iarnród Éireann, Jane Cregan said serious delays were expected and passengers are advised to use their website for information.

"The emergency services have taken control of the line at Kildare, and so until we have the line handed back, we will not be in a position to run services in either direction through Kildare," she said earlier.

Services have now resumed.
