Ireland to mark Independence Day

Americans in Ireland will commemorate the 4th of July today.
Events to celebrate Independence Day will take place in both Dublin and in New Ross in Wexford.
Over 2,000 guests are expected to attend the festivities in the Phoenix Park in Dublin at the Irish American Flag Football Classic.
John Hennessey-Niland is the Chargé d'affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Dublin and he said it is very important to host events in Ireland to mark the day.
"All across Ireland there are going to be celebrations, obviously there is the embassy celebration I know there is also celebrations in the west, in Galway, in Limerick and in Ennis," he said.
"It's great to see so many people having such a good time celebrating what I hope America is all about which is the pursuit of happiness and the right to freedom."
