New Defence Forces chief of staff appointed
The new Chief of Staff of the Defence Forces is Major General Conor O’Boyle.
The soldier joined the Army in 1970 and has served in Lebanon, Syria and Israel and has also been one of Ireland’s military representatives to the European Union in Brussels.
