Survey: Seven in 10 men drink in a harmful manner

More needs to be done to tackle the effects of alcohol abuse on drinkers and their families, according to the Clondalkin Drug Task Force.
It comes as a recent survey revealed that 40% of women and 70% of men drink in a harmful manner.
The Task Force is holding a conference in Dublin today to highlight the need to integrate the treatment of alcohol abuse into drug strategies, both at a local and national level.
Professor Joe Barry from the Royal College of Physicians said the effects of drinking are not just kept to the person themselves.
