Dublin's new Lord Mayor to be announced

The new Lord Mayor of the capital city will be announced later.

Councillor's will gather in Dublin's City Hall tonight to elect a successor to Naoise O'Muiri whose one year term has come to a close.

The role is shared between Fine Gael and Labour on the council and Labour are next to take up the position.

Their councillor's have selected Oisin Quinn - nephew of Education Minister Ruairi Quinn - to run in this evenings election.
