Unite criticise government for lack of investment in jobs
Unite trade union have criticised the government for their lack of investment in jobs.
Delegates have begun a two day conference today to discuss economic, political and social policy issues faced by it's members.
They argue that investment in stimulus is the only way forward and the creation of jobs is key to economic recovery.
Walter Cullen, Regional co-ordinating officer with Unite said the coalition have not acted fast enough on getting people back to work.
"We have put forward proposals years ago when the government started out on their austerity programme, our concern is that it may be too little too late," he said.
"Where you end up with a situation where you are trying to recover from the austerity that has already been imposed rather than building on the stimulus that should have been in place three or four years ago."
