PSNI release man in probe into murder bid against officer
A 25-year-old man arrested as part of an investigation into the attempted murder of a police officer in the North has been released.
He was detained in the Antrim area yesterday and taken to the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s serious crime suite for questioning.
A PSNI spokesman said the suspect had since been released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).
Last December, a policeman and his family escaped injury after a bomb was found beneath his car parked at his home in the Upper Newtownards Road in east Belfast.
A 25-year-old woman who was arrested in connection with the same incident last week has also been released pending a report to the PPS.
