Irish Federation of University Teachers to hold discussion on Haddington
The Irish Federation of University Teachers is holding a private conference today to discuss whether to recommend accepting or rejection of the Haddington Road Agreement.
The union is to ballot its members in the coming weeks on the public sector pay deal.
Three quarters of the union members voted against the proposals in Croke Park II.
However General Secretary Mike Jennings said there are some positive changes that have been introduced in the Haddington Road deal.
"The positives I suppose are there is a date for the restoration of the pay cuts and that the examination fees which were to be completely abolished are now to be reduced by 25%," he said.
