Ireland's latest lottery winner to take up golf

One half of the country’s latest lottery millionaire couple has said he is quitting his job.

Kevin Geoghegan joined his partner Carol Loran as they picked up their cheque for €10.6m at Lotto Headquarters this afternoon.

They arrived in a Rolls Royce and were joined by family and friends who travelled from their native Mullingar.

The couple plan to go on a holiday and afterwards, Kevin said he is taking up a new hobby.

He said: "I don't know what I'm going to do with it, I'm just going to enjoy it.

"I'm going to become a handicap golfer. I love golf, but I could never afford to play, but now I'm going to become a good golfer."
