Further talks to take place on Bus Eireann cost-cutting
Members of the Transport Salaried Staff Association at Bus Eireann are to sit down with management at the company next week following the implementation of €5m worth of cuts from today.
The union, which mainly represents ticket office workers and administration staff, rejected the cost cutting proposals which were brokered at the Labour Relations Commission last month.
The changes to pay and working conditions means an additional hour added to their working week from 36 to 37, as well as dropping one point on their increment scale for a 19-month period.
The union argue that their 240 members are dispprotionately affected compared to other employees at Bus Eireann.
