Fitzgerald urged to publish all crèche inspection reports
Fianna Fáil is calling on the Children's Minister to direct the HSE to publish all crèche inspection reports as a matter of urgency.
It follows reports yesterday alleging mistreatment of children in three crèches in Wicklow and Dublin.
The Giraffe childcare centre in Stepaside in Dublin said there was clear evidence of inappropriate conduct in caring for young people by a particular member of staff - who has been suspended.
The HSE and gardaí are investigating three crèches.
Fianna Fail's spokesman on children Robert Troy said that parents need to be reassured.
"The only way you can ensure there is confidence in any system is to have an open and transparent system," he said.
"The HSE and HIQA inspected the childcare facility and when an inspection is carried out these reports need to be published because that way parents can see there is openness, there is transparency and they can have confidence in the services they utilise."
