First date? Take her to a superhero flick

Superhero films are key to success on a first date, new research has found.

According to a nationwide survey by multiplex cinema chain Cineworld, more than three quarters of ladies (77 per cent) rated such movies as ideal first date material, and two thirds of men (62 per cent) said the same.

Roy Gower, Head of Film at Cineworld, said: “Superhero films are huge right now. The recent success of films like 'The Dark Knight', 'Iron Man' and 'Avenger’s Assemble' has re-kindled our love for comic book heroes and whetted our appetites for the latest superhero installment, 'Man of Steel', released on June 14.

"Henry Cavill is expected to blow us away with his performance of Superman in Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated re-imagining of the popular Superman franchise.”

More than one third (34 per cent) of men also voted Iron Man as the comic book hero they would most like to be.
