Protests as Taoiseach receives honorary doctorate in Boston

A small group of demonstrators has gathered outside Boston College in protest at Taoiseach Enda Kenny's presence at the college's commencement ceremony.

The Taoiseach is addressing some 3000 new graduates and 20,000 spectators at Boston College this evening - where he has just been awarded an honorary doctorate.

Boston Cardinal Sean O'Malley is boycotting the event because he says the Taoiseach is "aggressively promoting abortion legislation".
