Ireland one of biggest donors since beginning of Syrian conflict
Ireland has donated over €8m in aid to Syria - since the beginning of the conflict.
In total - the European Union has contributed around €600m in humanitarian assistance.
The Irish Government is calling on all countires that pledged support - to honour the commitments.
The Tanaiste - Eamon Gilmore - said that on a per capita basis - Ireland is one of the biggest donors.
"Total Irish assistance to Syria since the start of the is crisis amounts to €8.1m while the EU overall contribution stands at €600m," he said.
"Regrettably only 58% of the pledges made in Kuwait have so far been honoured."
