Insolvency applications to be accepted by end of month
The Director of the new Insolvency Service of Ireland said there has been a healthy level of interest.
Lorcan O'Connor said that he hopes to begin accepting applications by the end of next month - from people with debt problems.
He said a significant amount of work has to be carried out before then - including the authorisation of practitioners.
"We now have a website as well as a helpline for people to call and that website in it's first few weeks of operation already has received over 20,000 unique visits and the information line has been contacted on over 1,000 occasions," said Mr O'Connor.
"We continue to see a healthy level of interest in both the web and the telephone line."
