First liner of year docks at Dublin's East Link Bridge

Over thirty cruise liners will dock at the East Link Bridge in Dublin Port over the next number of months in an effort to promote what the port’s multi-million euro investment masterplan will deliver.

The first cruise liner to berth at the East Link Bridge this year, the “Le Boreal”- a 142 metre ship carrying 400 passengers and crew - arrived earlier this morning, marking the launch of the port’s 2013 cruise season.

The Dublin Port Masterplan 2012-2040 includes new cruise berths which will enable 340 metre cruise liners to land right up to East Link Bridge at the city gates .

It is expected around 100 cruise liners, carrying over 120,000 passengers will contribute up to €50m to Dublin's economy this year.
