Businessman Breifne O'Brien is trying to stop his prosecution on fraud charges, claiming there is a real risk of an unfair trial due to adverse media coverage.

The 51 year old of Kilmore, Monkstown Grove, South Dublin is facing trial on multiple counts of theft and deception.

Nineteen charges of theft relate to sums totalling about €11m.

The challenge is being heard by High Court President Nicholas Kearns.
