Childers issues stark warning of destruction to Labour

MEP Nessa Childers has said she believes the Labour Party could be "completely destroyed" by its involvement in the current Coalition Government and may "never come back again".
She has quit the parliamentary party today saying the leadership of the party is completely cut off from the concerns of members and their traditional ideals and values.
The MEP for Ireland East said she is fearful that Labour will not survive.
She said: "Time is running out, that is what's happening, time is running out.
"I think that the party could easily be just completely destroyed and it mightn't come back again if it is.
"I think in this situation, it would be difficult to resurrect the Labour Party if it is destroyed and that would be my opinion, others might disagree, but it's mine."
