Gardaí: Body found in Dublin is of man in early 20s

An investigation is underway after the body of a man in his 20s was found in north Dublin.

It was discovered in a field in Balheary, Swords, just before 3pm this afternoon.

The scene has been preserved for a full technical and forensic examination and the State Pathologist has been notified.

Its understood there are no signs of violence on the body, and Gardaí are attempting to identify the remains, which may have been in the field at Balheary for a short time.

Initial investigations show no signs of violence, and foul play may not be involved

Gardaí are examining their database of missing persons in a bid to identify the young man and are appealing for the public's help.

A Garda spokesperson said preliminary enquiries are ongoing and is urging anyone with information to come forward.
