More wintry conditions forecast in coldest March for 50 years

More wintry showers are expected to hit the east of the country today.
Forecasters say those showers will fall as snow initially before turning to a mixture of rain, sleet and snow.
An orange weather warning remains in place in Counties Dublin, Louth, Meath and Kildare which means accumulations of up to 5cms of snow.
Motorists are being advised to take extra care on the roads and people are being asked to check on elderly neighbours.
Met Éireann forecaster Ger Fleming gas said it has been the coldest March in more than 50 years.
