Limerick court remands man on bail after stand-off with armed gardaí

A 38-year old man has appeared before a special sitting of Limerick District Court in connection with a stand-off with armed gardaí.
The man was arrested shortly before midnight last Friday after allegedly barricading himself into an apartment on John Street in Limerick, nine hours earlier.
Robert Browne, of no fixed abode, was charged with producing a kitchen knife during the incident.
He was also charged with trespassing at the apartment on John Street.
He was remanded on bail on a number of strict conditions.
