Elderly man traumatised after four men raid house in Galway
A man in his 60s has been left traumatised after he was attacked in his home in Co. Galway last night.
The break-in happened in the village of Caherlistrane, near Tuam.
At around 9.30pm last night, four men, armed with a crow bar and wearing balaclavas and gloves, entered the house near the church in Caherlistrane and tied up a man in his 60s.
He was threatened and a sum of cash was taken. However, he was not injured.
No one else was in the house at the time and the raiders fled the scene.
One of the thieves is described as wearing a blue tracksuit top with faded white writing on the front and jeans.
The other two men were wearing dark tops with jeans and the fourth raider was tall and thin wearing all black clothes.
Gardaí in Tuam are appealing for anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Caherlistrane between 9pm and midnight last night, and who saw anything unusual or suspicious to contact them.
