Mayo businesswoman attacked for third time in six months

Gardaí have launched an investigation after the Mayo business woman Regina Sweeney was attacked in her home again, for the third time in less then six months.
The 36-year-old was assaulted at her boutique premises just outside Castlebar at around 5.15pm yesterday. She runs the bridal boutique business from her home in Breaffy, just outside Castlebar.
Ms Sweeney was taken to Mayo General Hospital for treatment.
There is local speculation a criminal gang, possibly with Limerick connections, may be involved in the attacks on Ms Sweeney because of her Garda connections.
Her husband is a detective based in Castlebar.
Following an attack in December, she appeared on The Late Late Show for a panel discussion on the rising wave of rural crime.
