Elderly woman dies in Cork road crash

An elderly woman was killed in a road crash in West Cork this morning.

The collision between a car and a truck happened at Owenahincha Cross on the Clonakilty to Rosscarbery Road shortly before 11am.

The woman, who was the driver of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver was not injured, but was treated for shock.

Diversions remain in place between Lisavaird and Rosscarbery to allow for a technical examination of the scene.
