Court strikes out Joe O'Reilly legal challenge

The Court of Appeal has struck out a new legal challenge taken by wife-killer Joe O'Reilly because it is taking so long to prepare.

The 40 year-old is claiming his conviction for the murder of his wife, Rachel, is a miscarriage of justice.

The court refused an application from O'Reilly's new legal team for more time to consider the case, and struck it out of the list.

Joe O'Reilly can re-enter his appeal once the legal preparation is complete.
