The Constitutional Convention has voted in favour of an amendment to the clause within the Irish constitution which places special emphasis on the place of women in the home.

The Constitutional Convention has voted in favour of an amendment to the clause within the Irish constitution which places special emphasis on the place of women in the home.

A vote also took place on proposed measures to increase the participation of women in political and public life.

The recommendations will now be brought to Government where a consideration will be taken on how to amend Article 41.2 of the Constitution.
