Mater hospital A&E to open

A new state of the art Accident and Emergency Department will open in the Mater Hospital in Dublin on Sunday..

It follows years of vigils and campaigns by local people for an improvement in conditions there.

The Labour Party will hold a final vigil outside the Mater hospital A&E in Dublin tomorrow lunchtime.

Trade and Development Minister Joe Costello commended those who took part over the years.
