An 18-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after he was shot in both legs in Belfast.

An 18-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after he was shot in both legs in Belfast.

He was targeted at Ardoyne Avenue in the north of the city at about 8.30pm last night.

A spokesman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland said the attack was a suspected paramilitary style shooting.

A 39-year-old man was arrested and is being questioned about the shooting.
