A homeless man from Dublin who fatally stabbed a 23-year-old who called him a "junkie" and a "scumbag" has said that seeing the dead man's family in court has been sobering.

A homeless man from Dublin who fatally stabbed a 23-year-old who called him a "junkie" and a "scumbag" has said that seeing the dead man's family in court has been sobering.

Thirty-four-year-old Thomas Kinsella of Orchid House on James' Street killed John Murdoch following a row with a group of youths at Cushlawn Way in Tallaght on August 27, 2011.

He was cleared of murder but convicted of manslaughter at his trial.

Mr Justice Barry White will finalise sentencing tomorrow.
